Hello there!

This writing serves as an introduction to a series of articles I will be writing about the different areas of the AD0-E558 Exam.

NOTE: If you are new to Marketo, my articles are not for you. I will advise you to start from here. Feel free to connect with me on Linkedin for a chat if you need some encouragement on why you should go for Marketo.

First thing first, the context: I am a Marketo fanboy. Marketo is my entrance to the world of Marketing Automation, and Marketing Operations as a whole. I was first introduced to Marketo back in 2016, and I first got certified as a Marketo Certified Expert on June 2016, and after that Marketo Certified Revenue Cycle Analyst on December 2016.

I interacted with Marketo on a daily basis: as an operational person, as a campaign reviewer, as a Front End developer who coded Marketo template from scratch, as a back-end developer who developed a layer on top of Marketo using Marketo WebHook and REST API, as a system administrator, as a system architect, and finally as a trainer and consultant.

It’s been some time since my old certifications expired, so I say to myself — why not re-certify? After Adobe’s acquisition of Marketo, Marketo herself has grown in various directions, including the certification exam. As of 2022, the latest exam that Adobe released is exam AD0-E558 (a rename of AD0-E554) — and this exam is a giant leap of evolution compared to the usual MCE exam, at least based on the exam guide, stories of people, and the practice test. BTW, Marketo Certified Experts are now called Adobe Marketo Engage Business Practitioner Expert.

So here goes. These writings are my way of learning too — posted before I’m taking the exam. We’ll see how it goes.

My study plan is as follows:

  1. Warm Up! Reviewing the Exam Guide as well as taking practice tests provided by Marketo — also the Professional Exam and the Master Exam to see how I fare
  2. Reviewing the Exam Section Topics, as well as writing the articles in parallel as a way to enhance my understanding
  3. Studying in detail the practice test

The exam covers 6 section areas with each of their weights. I will be briefly discussing each section area.

I do hope my articles could be beneficial to you!
